Developer & Technical Reference

Limitless provided a developer-facing API surface (see limitless.ai/developers) that allowed third-party developers to build on top of personal memory data captured by the Pendant and platform.

Key technical points:

Audio capture pipeline: The Pendant records ambient and conversational audio continuously, uploading to Limitless cloud infrastructure for transcription.
Transcription engine: Cloud-based ASR (automatic speech recognition) with speaker diarization and contextual AI summarization.
Developer API: RESTful API endpoints for retrieving transcripts, searching memory segments, and managing user data — documented on the Developers portal.
Desktop & Web App recording: Previously supported screen and audio capture (Rewind functionality); this feature is being sunset as of December 19, 2025.
Data portability: Accounts support full JSON/structured export of all transcripts and metadata via the Help Center workflow.
Regional restrictions: Service discontinued in Brazil, China, EU, Israel, South Korea, Turkey, and the UK as of December 5, 2025.
