GitHub Next builds and publishes research prototypes that sit at the intersection of LLMs, agentic systems, and software engineering infrastructure. Recent work includes agentic GitHub Actions workflows written in natural language, integrity filtering to block prompt injection from untrusted repository content, and LLM-powered codebase navigation tools. Many prototypes target the GitHub platform directly, leveraging GitHub Actions, Copilot infrastructure, and repository APIs. The lab frequently open-sources its work, enabling developers to study, fork, and build on early-stage research.
