External Data Sources

Adalo supports External Collections — connect your app to any REST API as a database. Configure endpoints for list, get, create, update, and delete operations directly in the builder.

External Collection Setup:
- Base URL: https://api.yourbackend.com
- Headers: Authorization: Bearer {{token}}
- GET /items  → List records
- POST /items → Create record

Custom Actions (API Triggers)

Custom Actions allow you to fire HTTP requests on user interactions (button taps, form submissions). Supports GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE with dynamic input mapping from app properties.

Zapier & Make Integration

Adalo has a native Zapier integration exposing triggers (new record created, record updated) and actions (create/update records). Connect to 5,000+ apps without additional middleware.

Xano Backend Integration

Use Xano as a scalable backend: connect via External Collections using Xano's auto-generated REST endpoints. Ideal for complex relational data models beyond Adalo's native database.

Component Marketplace (Dev)

Developers can build and publish custom components using Adalo's Component SDK (React Native-based). Submit to the marketplace for free or premium distribution.
